Yes I made it! I did! I did! Yaayyyy to me! Not that choco fudge brownie is difficult to make, but I had been hesitant to try it for quite sometime. The word "fudge" worried me. I never thought I will get it right. But I decided to try my hand at it finally and what did I have? Wonderful looking fudge brownies. Ok, I am really not sure if my brownies really taste like brownies, but they are low-fat version with no compromise in taste. I finished a batch of brownies in less than an hour and they tasted gorgeous. Now, this is my recipe of brownie preparation too. We enjoyed it thoroughly. 🙂
Recipe:
Ingredients:
For the Brownie-
- All purpose flour - ½ cup
- Eggs - 2
- Butter - 2 tbsp
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Cocoa Powder - 6tbsp
- Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
- Baking Powder - 1.5 tsp
- Sugar Powdered- 1 cup
- Chopped Almonds - ¼ cup (can use upto ½cup for more nutty texture)
For the Choco Fudge -
- Cooking Chocolate - 1 cup
- Butter - 2 tbsp
Preparation:
For the Brownie -
- Mix oil, butter and cocoa powder together in a mixing bowl and put aside.
- In a separate bowl, beat eggs lightly with sugar and vanilla extract.
- When there are no lumps, bring the cocoa mixture together with the egg mixture and add chopped almonds.
- Gently fold the sieved flour + Baking powder mixture in three additions in to the brownie mix.
- Grease a baking pan with butter and preheat the oven at 190°C for 15 mins.
- Bake the brownie for 35 mins (depending on the oven). The brownie might not look fully firm. Dont worry, it will get cooked further during the cooling process.
- Let it cool for 10 mins and then slowly cut it through the sides to loosen it from the tin.
For the Choco Fudge -
- Boil water in a wide pan.
- Put the butter and cooking chocolate (I used milk chocolate) in a bowl and put it on top of the boiling water.
- Keep stirring it until the chocolate and butter are melted. Mix vigorously.
- The choco mixture would be shiny and of the pourable/spreadable consistency.
- Remove from heat and spread it gently over the brownie that has been cooled.
- Wait until the fudge sets up. The process can be fastened up by putting the brownie in the refrigerator for half an hour.
- Take out and cut it gently into pieces. Serve it with vanilla ice cream 🙂
