Adrak Chai | Indian Ginger Tea
Hot Soothing Cup of Ginger Tea!
MEASUREMENT
1 cup = 250ml, 1 tablespoon = 15ml, 1 teaspoon = 5ml
Ingredients
- 2 cups Milk
- 2 teaspoon Black Tea Leaf Powder
- 2 inch Ginger Piece washed and peeled
- ½ cup Water
- 4 teaspoon Sugar
Instructions
- Wash and peel off the skin from ginger. Crush it well and add it to half cup of water. Let it simmer for 1-2 mins on low heat.
- Add the tea powder and let this simmer on low heat for 5-6 mins.
- As the mixture boils, flavors of ginger and tea powder are released and the water turns a deep brown.
- Add 2 cups of milk and mix well.
- Let this boil on low heat for 6-7 mins. If the tea begins to boil, stir quickly using a spoon and continue simmering for another 3-4 mins.
- Simmering makes the tea strong and helps develop flavor. Finally add sugar and mix well.
- Strain off the tea onto serving cups. If desired, swish the tea from one cup to another quickly until it is frothy.
- Serve hot with snacks of your choice.
